Healthcare professional for more than 25 years. From the lab bench of the biggest maternal hospital in the country to the managerial positions in Diagnostics industry, my aspiration was always to enabling the healthcare transformation and ensuring that all suitable patients who would benefit, get rapid and maintained access to high medical value diagnostic products.
I strongly believe that getting older doesn’t make you wise per se (“εν οίδα ότι ουδέν οίδα’’), thus, it wan not a coincidence that I decided to study Strategic Communications and Public Relations, in my 50’s. In my current position, the communication with several stakeholders, such as media, Healthcare professionals, public and health authorities is a daily routine.
Τhe Art of Communications is the creation and exchange of meaning and applies in all human interactions.
Through my journey in healthcare, I have realized that effective communication is of the utmost importance when delivering healthcare. If either the patient or healthcare provider lacks clear understanding of the information conveyed, the delivery of care is compromised.
Healthcare communication is my blog where I intend to share articles, opinions and ideas related to how communication and health are interrelated.
Disease awareness campaigns, misinformation and fake news in health are some of the topics which should be presented and discussed. The role of digital media in Health communication is a key topic, too.
I invite you to provide your feedback and share your own ideas.
